The Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian

The Strip

Las Vegas Strip is something that you have to see for once in your life. Many love the excitement of it all or are disgusted by its grandeur and waste of resources. Regardless of where you stand, it is something to see.
This mall is the most unusual shopping experience of all time.  You feel like you are experiencing everything that you have heard and read about Venice if you had not been to Italy.  The canal and gondolas as its center piece and the ceiling replicating the most beautiful sky.  You actually feel as though you under a night sky shopping and dining with lots of folks from all over the world, sharing in this beautiful fantasy along side of you. If you happen to be there in the middle of the day, you will not be under a night sky, but an incredibly warm one.

To add to the feeling of being under the skyline, you have street entertainers like the one pictured above.  Along with the usual upscale shops, there are great restaurants and bistros, spas, and even a museum.  Go down to the casino level and you will be blown away by the decor and excitement of the casino.

Th Grand Canal Shoppes along with much much more is located on Las Vegas Boulevard, otherwise known as ‘the strip’.

Exposition Park

Gardens of Exposition Park

Exposition Park is located in an area of Los Angeles called University Park, which is directly across the street from University of Southern California. Surrounding the gardens of the park you have several museums.  Natural History Museum of Los Angeles CountyCalifornia Science Center, California African American Museum (CAAM), and IMAX Theatre at the Science CenterThere is also the Memorial Coliseum and the Sports Arena.

After sleeping late this morning, my husband and I wanted to get out and got to the African American Museum.  We both love art galleries and museums, and was looking forward to finally making this happen.  The doors opened at 11am and we were there at 12noon. This was the first time either of us had been to Exposition Park, even though my husband had lived in Los Angeles many years ago.

These are some of the beautiful flowers that were in the rose garden other than the roses. It was quite beautiful and relaxing there, and it was also surprisingly clean. Exposition Park is located across the street from USC, the cross streets are Vermont Avenue and Exposition Bvd. This is the link to information on the park and all that it has to offer.

I am looking forward to going back to visit the history and science museums.
